Due to the direct contact between flue gas and materials during grinding and calcination, the heat exchange intensity is high, and the content of soluble anhydrite phase in the calcined building gypsum is very high, accounting for 1/2~2/3. At the same time, it is difficult to control the uniformity of dewatering speed in the mill, thus affecting the stability of building gypsum phase composition, and further affecting the stable control of production process. Soluble anhydrite has strong water absorption. After reasonable aging of the ground and calcined building gypsum, the soluble anhydrite will be converted into hemihydrate gypsum with compact structure, small floor area and low energy consumption. However, the equipment used for gypsum calcination needs to be improved to be applicable.


Gypsum calcining equipment


When gypsum is calcined in a steam rotary kiln, the calcined product has the characteristics of good activity and high strength. As steam is used as the thermal medium, the temperature is low, the reaction speed is slow, and the material temperature is easy to control. The calcined building gypsum contains few soluble anhydrite, most of which are hemihydrated gypsum. Its mechanical properties and phase composition are relatively stable, so that the production process of the board is easy to control and suitable for the production of gypsum plasterboard. If the steam waste heat is reused for the pre drying of desulfurization gypsum, the calcination energy consumption can be further reduced. Compared with the two-step method of drying and calcining desulfurization gypsum, the energy consumption of steam rotary kiln calcination is lower, and the initial and final setting times of the obtained building gypsum are basically similar to those obtained by frying pan calcination.

Although there are many kinds of gypsum calcining equipment, the main factor affecting the quality of calcined products is the "heat exchange mode", that is, direct heat exchange and indirect heat exchange. The building gypsum obtained from the former is a mixture of multiphase composition. If it is used to prepare gypsum plasterboard, it should be cooled and aged to make its phase composition stable before use. The latter is generally used when the building gypsum produced is cooled to below 80 ℃.
